What kind of advice/question are you looking to get answered?
Which motor you swapping, what tranny? etc..

Well whats your price range for the engine?
And if your going to go manual, I suggest you do this the same time as you do the swap.

That's a nice one but the hp dif won't be much.
You have a 99 civic vp right? So you have a d16y7 with 106hp
If you get the d15b it comes with 130hp, only a 24hp difference.

You can always get a d16y8 vtec head and put it on your d16y7 block.
As long as you don't go turbo without a tune it should be fine with simple mods like I/H/E

I wouldn't buy one from the junkyard because if it had grinds you can't return it.
I would buy a used one from a shop or a friend.
I would though get the parts from the junkyard, like manual tranny mounts, shift linkage, clutch line, clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder etc..

I would start with the looks first, then I would change engine mods and such, its gonna be a daily driver right?
No need to hurry up on the engine mods.
