Default LS trans with 4.7FD and typeR LSD

I have a mint LS trans in my car, so please dont tell me to just find a tranny with a LSD in it already, plus the LS gearing is good for me. I would however like the added acceleration of swapping to a 4.7 FD. also im badly in need of a LSD mainly because my car will be driven in winter and it was hard enough getting it to hook up stock. I plan to order a 4.7 FD and then find a stock type R LSD. I know the bearings between type R and LS differentials are different.

My question is this: if i get the roller bearings for the type R diff and replace the old ones, will i have any problems shimming up this new diff in the LS case?

Use enclosed bearings for a GSR/ITR. You'll also need a new shim.
