I just bought a 98 civic that already had an aftermarket radio in it, and the keyless entry worked. I installed a new radio with ipod support and discovered a factory radio shoved under the dash, did some research and realized its supposed to be there. I installed the factory radio in the original location and moved the new radio to the lower mount.

Heres the problem, now the keyless entry doesnt work. I plugged the radio back up, then tryed to program the remote by holding the button on the radio down, nothing. Then pulled i it back apart and plugged in the green plug on the radio and when i program the remote the locks actuated, but the remote still doesnt work. Ive replaced the batteries, the power locks work, the manual locks work, the light on the remote lights when i push the buttons, but it wont unlock the car. When i program the remote im holding the button on the radio and the remote until the locks actuate, is there anything else?

 

Does anyone know what the green plug controls, because i ve noticed some people dont have that plug.

 

 

Thank you worked perfectly. Something to add, you need to hold down the valet button through the first four steps. Thats why mine wasnt working i was letting off the button after the locks actuated.
