Default Car just died

So I was driving to work today and my 92 CX just died on me. The car has a d15b7 in it. I haven't had a lot of time to look at it since I was on my way to work. But what I noticed is that it just cranks, I've had this happen on my del sol and it was the distributor. But also I'm not sure if i heard the fuel pump start up. It's kind of hard to hear anyway, when I get more time I'm going to go mess with it but thought I'd ask you guys a little more on what to check.

In addition to checking for the fuel pump priming, also check whether the CEL is ON and whether there is spark at the plugs.

What is the best way to check for spark? I've of pulling the plug wire, but then I've heard that this way is dangerous. So I'm not exactly sure the best/safest way to check for spark.

Just hold the spark plug with big insulated pliers and you shouldn't receive a shock this way. Or you can purchase a spark plug tester like this: http://www.algrovetoolsupply.com/cgi-bin/item/MTN8709
Or if you have a timing light, you can use that to figure out if you have spark or not. If the timing light doesn't flash, there's no spark, otherwise, there's spark.

did it start to die and then stall? Or just stall? When it starts to die its usually fuel, when it stalls its usually electrical. I had this happen to me a few times.

No it just stalled, tach dropped and it just coasted. Tried to start it a few times, and roll start it but nothing at all.

sounds electrical. I remember when the catch for my Fuel pump couldnt get enough fuel. The car would start to die when i turned, and the RPMs would get really low even if i was flooring it. And then it would die. thats normalyy what happens on Honda's becaues the ECU limits it so that it doesnt lean out too much.

I'm sure it's something to do with the distributor, I just haven't had a chance to mess with it yet.
