HEy, i got my 2000 Civic coupe back from the shop recently and i had a new front bumper and badgeless grill put on. The bumper looks fine, but the grill protrudes out a bit about 1cm. It doesn't sit flush with the hood or bumper, really kinda bugs me. I paid $60 cdn for the grill, maybe the fitment is **** because it was soo cheap? or maybe the shop didn't install it right? any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

whats it matter if its an Si grill?? My car is an Si (Sir), but i don't have the original grill anymore, shop threw it out i guess. The previous owner had put a large red H badge in there, looked stupid. So i bought a new badgeless one, that i have on the car now. How do the Si grills differ from regular coupes??
The lower one would be a coupe/hatch grille. The sedan has one extra horizontal blade and a chrome shell instead of a color matched one.
I haven't seen an EM1/EK9 grille up front in awhile, but is that even a real one?

I've got five different grilles and none of them are EM1/EK9 grilles.
Mugen grille (real), EDM optional grille, paint matched shell for EDM grille and a sedan grille. I still even have my stock coupe grille.
So really I guess I have six combinations I could make.

Get the OEM Si grille or ek9 grille, both are the same like what TheJGB3 posted.
The easiest way I have found to tell if it's OEM or not is the OEM grill is actually 2 pieces. The mesh piece is one part and the painted surround is the second part. You buy them separately from Honda if you wish. The emblem is also optional. It simply sets into some of the mesh and you put a backing plate with 3 phillips screws to hold it on.
Yes, I agree; the only way to go on these is OEM.

EM1 and EK9 99-00 are indeed the same apart from that EK9 features no logo.
EDM 96-00 saw no optional grille.
96 had a one piece colored frame, one horizontal blade and small badge:

Similar to USDM 99-00 (non SI) hatch and coupé but has a larger painted front, same as (some) 96-98 hatch and coupé I think;
97-00 featured a two piece chrome front, three blades and large badge, with a diff shape for 97-98 and 99-00 because of facelift diffs.
Sedans featured simular designs with one diff: 96 had three blades.
So you guys have no OEM option available for a 96-98 Civic if yoy want a mesh/EM1/EK9 style grille except an import EK9 96-98?
