Timing belt... need replacing???

Default Timing belt... need replacing???

a recent inspection on my car led to a mechanic saying my timing belt needed to
be replaced. my car has 106 000 miles and is still running on the original timing belt. replace?

over 100k on the original belt sounds good for a replacin.

It would be a good idea to replace it. Every 60,000 miles it should be replaced. When you do, here are some items that you should replace also.
Timing Belt
All 3 accesorry belts ac, alternator and the main one
Request all seals to be replaced. Cam seals etc...
water pump
and dont forget to adjust the valves.
By doing all this, you will not have to worry about anything. New belts, new seals, new water pump, and valves adjusted. The car will run like new.
But, this will cost you if you take it to Honda.
But just remember this, take it to Honda, you know it will be done right.

thats about right..i go to speedy lube..they have a couple of ex honda mechanics working there..they recommend d a timing belt a waterpump every 90k go to a honda dealer and get a schedule that the recommend and see if its all necessary

when you have that many miles, even though your timing belt might still be in good shape, it is still a precautionary measure that needs to be taken.

you will need one eventually, you might as well get a new one and prevent anything bad that can happen from a faulty timing belt.
