thinking about building my LS up,any tips or ideas?
hey,im thinking of just building up my LS motor in my 91 integra, rather than runing the very popular LS-V or LS-V turbo(or even the also popular turbo LS).kinda unsure what to do to it as far as performance stuff goes. Was thinking of running Skunk2 pro series internals in the head and block, bore the block out a bit, port the head and polish the cams,as well as a hondata LS brain and 500 cc fuel injectors.anyone know if im missing something here?or how that setup would work?how much should i bore the block out? Also for the time being,i have a set up cheap Weapon-R adjustable cam gears in my car right now,+/- 5 degree adjustables..Right now i have them at 3 degree's retarded and it seems to be running pretty good, but does anyone know whats the best way to run em for max performance?leave them at 3 degree's retarded or move them to another degree?thanks guys/girls in advance.
IMO if your gonna build that much into the engine, i would go with either ls/vtec or ls/vtec turbo. you can run ls/vtec on a stock block but if your gonna upgrade things i would go ahead and boost as well.
and BTW....your screen name is my xbox gamertag. (hondaluv08)

lol, nice game tag, gota love the honda luv, lol.but yeah,im trying to go all motor here, something people dont see every day on honda's/acura's. i mean everywhere you look you see a honda boosted,or with a type-r,GSR,B16,or LS-V and i just dont even get excited over the vtec swaps or LS-v's no more, lol,i mean i personaly have like 8 friends running LS-v's,probobly 4 times that many running type-r's,b16's,or GSR's,and a couple are boosted, lol,so that stuffs just not orriginal anymore..an all motor LS on the other hand you dont see too often, and im looking to push atleast 250 whp in the end at 300 torque if i can, maybe more,no spray, vtec,or turbo/supercharger. but anyways, heres the car it's goin on,minus the black widow kit, which i traded for a system cuz i was tired of it,lol, had 92' GSR bumpers on it now.black.and it's got a nice exhaust already, not sure what make as the emblem/name is partialy scraped off from (im guessing) the rear bumper scraping off it from time to time, but i do know it's thermal, and not sure what it's running for a header, just that it's 4-2-1,and no cat,all banjo bent(cant spell it,lol) 2 1/2 inch stainless steel piping.
I've never heard of anyone polishing the cams before. 500cc injectors are stupid big for a n/a LS. You seriously need to research, and no, asking around isn't research.
hahaha 300Tq. like the other guy said, 200WHP on a N/A LS, is super costly, if you want something quick go with ls-v or turbo. If you want a n/a LS, dont aim too high.

yeah i meant pnp head, not polish cams, not sure why i wrote that, lol, but anyways, what kind of numbers do you think i would see on a N/A LS with Skunk2 pro series internals, throttle body(thinking 68-70mm),skunk2 pro series intake manifold, and also,i have not seen any yet but does skunk2 make block internals as well,or just cyl. head internals?
at least go ls/vtec for some good torque and higher hp numbers. i know a local guy who built an b20/vtec all motor and put 230 to the wheels. so it is possible, but very expensive.
b20-vtec is a really good motor when you build it right, Like in the video, 200 WHP in a LS is already a costly but possible job. If you want 250 WHP, mildly build the LS motor and boost it at 10 lbs. haha
