Default NEED help vtec isnt working

I havent checked the solenoid.. But i know that could be one possible problems, my question is if i have a gsr vtec solenoid on a b16 engine would that cause problems? I would like to know because my buddy said that you could do that and he found a great deal on one if it is the solenoid. It sounds pretty bogus to me

Also if my speedo likes to go crazy sometimes i shuold check the VSS right? It just randomly goes from like 0-120 sometimes idk why

check knock sensor wires, or even the knock sensor itself.

well im getting a jdm b16 solenoid with the VSS for 70 so if that doesnt solve my problem idk what will... Also my idle seems to be a little weird sometimes. it sounds like it just wants to die sometimes, should i get a new tps? or just try cleaning out the IACV

well the idles gone, and i cleaned the vtec solenoid and everytthing... Turns out im leaking/burning oil. I check my dipstick as a last resort and theres nothing, and i changed it about a month ago.. Doesn anyone know where a common oil leak would be? I dont think i would be burning oil because its a relativley new engine, and it doesnt smoke, or feel that its less power. If it is an oil leak, it wont be too expensive right? Im also going to run a compression test just to make sure im not burning oil or anything like that.. If its low in any cylinders im F'ed for life
