Default Single 10" or Dual 10"s?

I honestly don't know if I will even add subs but thinking about what I want if I do. Well, my 2 12" subs got stolen so it's no more of them. All the boxes I like that are the stealth boxes only hold 2 10" subs. I was thinking of a stealth box with 2 10" Polk Momo subs. However, my other option while wouldn't look near as good would work and that's to have a 10" Kicker Comp VR in a regular sealed box. Or a vented box for that matter. How much louder are 2 10" ones than the 1 10"? I've had one 10" one in the past but it was in a crappy homeade box. Not sure how much that mattered. It was no where near as loud as the 2 12"s though. The 12"s just sounded way better to me but I hardly ever even turned them up. It was nice to be able to on occasion though.

Which do you guys prefer? Will a 10" sub get loud enough to shake the car by itself. On occasion I like to feel vibration from the sub.

What car.

A single 10 can be plenty for most. I have a single Diamond Audio D9 in a vented box in my car, and it RAILS.

Going in a extended cab truck. I just didn't think the single 10" did very much in it before. However, when it got put with the same amp in a Honda Accord trunk it seemed like it hit really hard. Way harder than I would want or need. I would be happy if I could get it to sound like that in the truck. I think the H/U is a little better at adjusting sound in the car. The one in the truck was a Alpine where you adjust the frequency. It doesn't have bass and treble settings. Seems like it may have had something to do with it. Either that or being in the trunk.

I had 2 12" JBL's and they were pretty cool. I upgraded to a 2 10" Kicker's and they are ever LOUDER than the 12's. My friend has 1 12" JL's and my 2 10's are wayyy louder than his.

It really depends on the kind of 10 it is and what kind of enclosure it is in. Also the car plays a major factor.

Well the sound all depends on many factors of the box. And 2 10s will most often hit harder than 1 since you have twice the air displacement.

Not really! Does matter how many subs you have because the box play an important role with audio. You see the sub's act like an air pump. Without the proper box. It will fail. This's just one of it.

Well of course if your box has only enough air for one than that will hit batter than two. But two in the right box will own one of the same type 2 air pumps work better than one

I also have 1 12" sub I could use. However, since the place we were planning to build a box for it to go would have to be pretty small I think the 10" would be a lot better. It's going to have to be in a pretty small box to fit where we want so air space will be limited. I'm going to try to build it to get it close to the recommended air space.
