Im going to assume your adhering to the Honda maintenance schedule. How many miles are on the car currently?

Honestly.... whats the issue? If your annoyed by this post unsubscribe. Let the guy ask whatever questions he wants. No one starts out an expert at this kinda stuff. They learn it along the way.

How many miles do you have on the car? There is a recommended maintenance schedule from Honda based on your mileage.

The problem is people over simplify things that don't need to be. The car doesn't need a tune up. I am willing to bet he doesn't anywher enark 100,000 miles on the vehicle.

Follow the directions of your owners manual if you aren't knowledgeable enough. Ask a technician or a service advisor.

Actually im only at 45k and i've never done a tune up, that was a mistake. I was told you should do your first tune up at 30k and and im at 45k just want to make sure my car lasts me a long time. I just love how someone like myself, comes on the site looking for advise and asks a question, the MAJORITY of the people on this site respond with smart a$$ comments...i asked a question if you don't want to answer, then don't, no need for childish remarks, grow up, and get a life... Thanks H-T, once again...its good to be back...

a solid 60% of people on this site respond with ignorant comments. just dont pay any mind to them, at 45k i would do a oil change, trans service, change the cabin air filter, inspect the following and change if needed, plugs, fuel filter, front and rear brakes and rotate the tires if needed. goodluck to you

The best thing to check is the maintenance book that you should have gotten with your car. If you did not recieve one the dealer can give you one. It wont detail the parts replaced (if needed) but it will tell you what there looking at. They should also be able to give you a printout of how much each checkup should cost. All I can remember is theres a decently big one at 60k......

We have a timing chain, no belt. Not sure if it needs to be replaced. If so it's prob like at 150K or so. Don't quote me on that.

Captain cool guy, you don't do a tune up on this car at 30k nor 45k, you do it at 100k and whoever told you that needs to be punched in the head. You want to blow your money, go right ahead. Look in your owners manual, 99.99% of the time it's all you need.

We're only smart asses because we didn't give you the answer YOU wanted to hear. I told you to ask the dealer what parts are needed for a tune up, they WILL tell you.

They are supposed to be "maintenance free."

i've heard of a few stories of the chain going out on rsx's around 150k miles. not sure if "going out" was the chain completely snapping or just stretching though. most of us don't have to worry about it for quite some time.
