obx lsd. . .to spin or not to spin
ok so i opened up a B-series obx lsd9000 (b16/ls). what i found different than information posted in the "how to field strip an obx lsd" thread was that the axle gears are the same size and the 2 gears in the middle that hold the washers in place are the same size. are they supposed to be the same size? next when the washers were set from obx ))()((, the lsd was able to spin inside, by this i mean i can put an axle in each side of the lsd and one side would spin forward while the other side would spin backwards. i reset the washers to how its recommended )()()( and now it wont spin at all. is this supposed to not spin? thanks for the info. also, i can take pics and post of what i'm talking about if necessary.
well since you're rebuilding your diff, i recommend upgarding your washers and bolts. my washers got f*cked up even if they were the right way, i think because the obx bolts were weak and stretched.
yeah just because you couldnt spin them in the diff doesnt mean the car wont be able to spin them at different speeds when taking a corner (purpose of the diff) this tightness just means that it wont act like an open diff.
in summation, you now have the correct preload on the gears
in summation, you now have the correct preload on the gears
