Looking for new gear
So I'm looking for a new jacket and am hoping one of you can help me out. I'm currently riding with a cheapo cortech tourmaster jacket I picked up at a local deal before getting my bike last summer. It gets the job done in terms of protection, has all the right bits of me protected and breathes well when I unzip the vents and take out the lining. The problem is that it is not the best looking thing when I'm not on my bike and is quite bulky. In addition to having a tear in the left shoulder from when I low sided but that doesn't bother me. When does is that riding places where I can't stash my jacket is cumbersome when I get there like going to the mall, movies or class. I want something that still offers protection but also looks more like a regular jacket than something that's unmistakeably only made for riding a bike. I believe I saw a topic like this a while ago but can't find it. Looking for any suggestions. Thanks.
Edit: I remember that maybe Dianese, Icon or Alpinestars makes the jacket I'm thinking of but I'm open to suggestions. However I should add that I'm about 6'2" to 6'3" so I'd probably need something that's offered in a Tall size. It would also be nice not to break the bank, sure you can't put a price on safety but I highly doubt that a $1000 jacket will protect me more than something sub $500 for the kind of riding I do.

You can always run a bicycle cable lock through the jacket and lock it to your bike when you're not riding it.
That said, the First Gear Kilimanjaro look like parkas.

I have a black Alpinestars Stage jacket, size 46 US that might work for you.
It's $400 new, and I'm offering it for half that.

I always liked the dainese textile jackets. the zentex and the various other jackets they make. they fit well and are less bulky than most. they cost more than i'm willing to pay ($250-$500), but if i rode street more, would prob buy one.
I remember there being a textile jacket that looked just like a Dickies jacket, but I can't find it now and the company may not be around any more.
I'd check out something from this group of jackets:

I have an Alpinestars One-O-One, and it's not really compact or anything, but it looks OK off the bike.

as far as gear i like the spidi line and own a few myself. a few of their jackets utilize low profile armor to reduce bulk. not too bad looking either. i'm actually picking up either a spidi JK or dynamite textile jacket soon. dainese also makes some nice around the town gear but i haven't had a chance to try them out yet.
