i picked up my new ride yesterday, 1994 civic type r. only 7 thousand bucks. i thought it was i good deal. the guy told me it was rare special edition with k20, which he said was well over 200 hp. it sounded to good to pass up so i got it. was this a good deal? and can anyone confirm that the 94' civic type r's had the k20. thanks alot

I think Japan/Europe had EG6 SiR hatch but it had a Gen2 B16A

If it has a solid swapped k20 in a 94 hatch...thats a fun ride. It cost at least 7-grand to swap it yourself and the shell isn't even priced into it. So you could've got an good deal depending on the functionality of the swap/motor/etc and where you live. Its near impossible (and a lot more $$) to get a K series swap in that car REF'd in CA

I thought i'd take a moment and show the OP what parst he's talking about. First off, the Civic Type R came into production in 1997 in Japan as a rhd, and only in white, here's a pic i took of a real one



2nd, the K20A being claimed wasn't even invented till the year late 2001, being sold as a 2002 model in cars like the rsx/jdm integra, and civic/8th gen. This is what a K20A looks like

 

probably saw the D15 motor and assumed it was what the seller stated it was (a k20).
