which eg civic engine is good on gas
i heard that honda eg civic gives you more miles per gallon is this true? i would appreciate it if any one could inform me some more about honda engines i dont necesarly go for fast cars and big engines i just love eg civic and would like to know more about their engine
If you want fuel economy pick a d15z1 or a d15b8. But they are both slow as ****. They barely have enough power to pull them selves away from their shadow.
they are all good on gas. slower = better on fuel, but slower. i've had b16s and b18s and they have been very good when not revved to **** all the time.
For North American vehicles, the order for fuel economy goes something like this:
LESS FUEL | D15Z1(90hp) < D15B8(70hp) < D15B7(102hp) < D16Z6(125hp) | MORE FUEL
Note that no Canadian vehicle received the D15B8.

Since everyone has already missed it, The key to 'killer' MPG is hardly the motor IMO with honda's, its the gearing and how its driven.
If you want killer MPG, Yes, You want a D15B8 or Z1, but more importantly you want the TRANSMISSION associated with those motors as it is wide as Russia, and that is what gives those 2 motors the ability to get north of 45-50mpg.
I DD an LS Swapped civic coupe and still manage 35mpg out of it.
