Default 95 civic muffler

I have a 1995 2 door honda civic coupe ex with the sohc 1.6 vtec. I have had many after market mufflers and they have all been too loud for my liking. I would rather listen to my cold air intake. Anyone reccommend a good muffler that is quit but still gives decent performance on a civic? I would like it to look decent too.

Thanks

or you can get the cat back magna flow muffler. it bolts right up about $150 and sounds real nice. its not round and large. oval and small compared to the stock muffler. and and 2.25 pipe alittle after the muffler to make it look stock

your wants and ideas dont go together. you want a quiet exahust but want a header . the header wont quiet anything it will actually do the opposite. and for ej1love, advising a cat delete for a quiet exhaust is not a good idea

i know a header will make it louder, but my exhaust is welded somewhere around the header/cat and i cant remember where. i burnt my cat out long time ago and when they replaced it, they just welded it. so if i get a cat-back system it might not bolt on so i might need to replace everything. so to you people saying i contradict myself, i just didnt explain everything.

and i notice apexi has a ws universal muffler for 199. how does that compare to the w2? i have 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust all the way back already (what is stock diameter?) so if i got a universal i would not have to mess with header or cat

The WS2 comes as an axle back or cat-back... 2.25" exhaust is fine... The only difference between the WS and WS2 is the tip... Just take it to a local muffler shop and have them weld it on... It will cost you next to nothing...

dude. the header is like 8484 feet from the cat back. its pretty long. usualy on a civic (nonhatch) is 4 peices, header. cat. resonater to axle. then axle to muffler(1 piece)
sounds like your shizz is all ghetto. save up and buy a good full set up plus header

its not that messed up. i just looked. my car is really low and i lived on gravel roads for awhile. thats why ive had to get it redone a few times. my exhaust is in 3 pieces. my header bolts to downpipe which bolts to cat. from then on its 1 piece. my cat is welded to my cat-back setup. looks like i can keep stock manifold and get a magnaflow cat with apexi ws2 cat-back and BOLT it all together instead of weld. that will be pretty clean and quiet right

"the header is like 8484 feet from the cat back"

um i actually said its welded somewhere between the header/cat... WHICH ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER AND NOT 8484 FEET APART!

Magnaflow cats change the sound a bit but in a good way... I had one implode on me but it was fixed under magnaflows warranty... Also look into random technologies they make application specific cats, but they also have universals with a variety of input and output sizes...

I have a random tech cat for my car (99 Si) with an Apexi WS2 cat-back... It all bolted right up and I did it in my driveway... On a side note I had a muffler shop weld a removable rear section with straight pipe so I could go from loud to quiet as I please...

so magnaflow makes it louder? deeper? i suppose since you are using a random tech now you would choose that over a magnaflow...

It is hard to explain... The magnaflow cat made it crackier... if that even makes sense but I was pretty upset with the fact that it failed on me... I would recommend Random Tech for Honda applications... I have had that cat for about 75k now with no problems...
