I recently bought an Invidia Exhaust and got it put on by a local mechanic, but when i went to get the car, i was told and shown that the resonator pipe won't go on because the flanges on the resonator and downpipe are different. The resonator has three holes in a triangle pattern and the downpipe has two holes straight across from eachother. Does anyone know where I can get a downpipe the will work with this? Even if I have to replace the exhaust manifold and either replace or eliminate the cat converter, that is fine too, I just don't want to be out the money for this exhaust.

 

You need a header or a stock D16Y8 / D16Z6 manifold, and a test pipe or a catalytic converter.

 

Will any header work or can you give me a particular brand that will work?

 

The catalytic converter has the three hole flange. The manifold will have a 2-bolt flange.

You need ANY aftermarket header for a D-series or a stock manifold for a D16Y8 / D16Z6, and ANY test pipe (that can be cut to fit) or SOHC/DOHC VTEC 92-00 catalytic converter.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on any toes, i have a d16y5 in the car now and the flange on the cat converter on it is only a two holed flange, that is why i was askin if there was a certain brand i needed to go with or anything.

 

The d16y5 has the cat right after the manifold right?

I would buy an aftermarket header and a test pipe if emmisions isnt an issue. It should bolt right up.
