dx to lx conversion
I have a 90 dx 4 door that I'm looking to swap power windows, door locks and mirror's on to. I just picked up a 92 lx that was totaled. I'm swaping over the doors and such. I've done this on a civic before so I know the tech parts.
Now for my question, what harness's do I need for the power door locks/windows/mirrors? Is it the full cabbin harness or can I just add the parts and such? Would it be a good idea to swap out the whole harness anyways so I can get the relays and fuse box's(under dash and under hood)?
I know on civic's you pretty much have to swap the whole harness. I have the whole car to pull parts from.
Thanks for any help.

I have never done a swap like this, but after looking at the part numbers for the Lx Dx & Ex cabin wire harness. They all have different part numbers. If I had both harnesses, a complete swap would be the way I would go. Easier than trying to splice and fish for wires. I had my dash and the complete harness out of my 5th gen in half a day.
What did you do with the Civic's that you swapped?

That's what I've been looking up all day is part numbers the dealer ship will not tell me jack as they say it's impossible. The civic's(2 of them) I did it to I sold just got bored with the lower class honda's ecept my 90 hatch. I've always wanted a cb7 and I owned one for a month then it got totaled so I found a steal of a deal on a new one the dx for $500 with 163k, 2nd owner it was kept in family though and almost all service records. Then my cousin wrecked her 92 lx and I said I'll buy it from you for what they say is the buy back.
I'll be getting the lx soon probably with in the next week or so and I'm stripping it to just a rolling shell. Then I'll start the build up process and do a write up for it so it can be used for others.

all the stuff in the door plugs into the main body harness, basically the one that runs through the whole car! there are 2 ways of doing this the cleanist way is the replace the entire harness it will require the removal of the dash and if your fast should take about 4-5 hours as I did this on my 5thgen for my ABS swap and it took 4 1/2 hours to do and the 4th gen looks about the same amount of work just make sure you get a harness out of a 90 Lx or Ex as the 91 is OBD1 and the 92-93 have SRS system wires in it. or plan B is to just get the matching plug for the door harness ( gut out a 90-93 harness) make your own power harness (most simple).
Doh!!!(homer voice). I forgot about the 90 being obd0 and the 92 being obd1. Probably just gonna gut the harness then. I was hoping for the easyiest which would be harness swap the whole harness but then the obd thing comes in to mind and I'm not doing that swap to gain nothing. Thanks for the input and that thought crossed my mind and I'd be sitting there wondering why the car is not starting.
don't listen to anyone that tells you to do a swap. you will be at a serious cost disadvantage.
sell your current car and buy an LX or EX those year accords are very cheap now..........

How am I going to be at a cost disadvantage? I already have the 90 dx which is the good one I'm doing the swap to. I got the 92 lx for next to nothing from my cousin who totaled it. So once I sell the motor or dash and front seats I'll pretty much have everything else for free. I have the whole complete running car that she rear ended some one and it tweaked the unibody up front and a control arm so they called it a total. That is not a cost to me at all once I make up for what I spent on it. Read the full post next time before you post you f**king troll.

As for the SRS system. I know that it is a completely separate from the main harness on the 94-97, are the 90-93 not the same?
the 90 is OBD0 thats why it lacks the SCS connector, if you lift the carpet you will see the LED on the ECU for your trouble code the car will still have the OBD1 plugs and dizzy. as for the SRS they do have a separate harness (yellow one) but it has to link into the main harness for SCS connector and for the gauge cluster (main harness) yes you can use any 90-93 accord Lx,Ex harness and 99% on it will plug in but you will have extra plugs figure out is all and remember the 90-91 have the auto seatbelt and the 92-93 don't....
