Default Spring Rates Determining Ride Height, and Interchangablilty

I just have a question that has to deal with Spring Rates.

When choosing a Spring, the best way is to do it on the Spring Rate. Is this correct? Example - Civic Eibach Sportlines are rated 310F/275R. But the drop on them are 1.6 for the EG Civic, and 1.8 for the EK Civic.

H&R Sports for Integras are rated at 1.7 with a 276F/276R Spring rate.

Gathering from this data, is it safe to say that the Civic Sportlines on a Integra will give a slighter stiffer ride than compared to the H&R Sports? Since the Lowering Distance for the Sportlines are 1.6 for the said Spring Rates, and the H&R are 1.7 for the said Spring Rates. Would the Civic Sportlines lower about the same as the H&R? Since, the Integra is heavier, and the Civic Sportlines are a wee bit stiffer.

After doing some digging I did come across this that shows the Spring Rates for the Sportlines of both DC Integra and EG Civic.

If the springs are different lengths, then you can't compare the advertised drops to the rates (unless you know the free lengths).

What are you trying to accomplish?

Plus you have to think about what portion of the spring those rates actually apply to. All those springs are progressive rate, so what portion of the spring has a 310 lb/in or 276 lb/in spring? The stiffest end? Somewhere in the middle?

Sometimes I wonder if these spring rates are just some abstract number and how accurate they really are. Since you don't know what the rate is like at the softer end of each spring, there's really no way to know how the Civic Eibach springs will behave on an Integra.

Luckily for me I won't have to. Theres a member on here that has had this setup before. He hasn't been on since December though. That's why he hasn't said anything. I know that he sold his GSR though.

Rory Breaker has Civic Sportlines on his GSR. He ran Tokico Blues though. And from posts of his that I could dig up, he says that it rode pretty good. Nice and stiff, but not overly stiff.

Loving the stance of it also. I'm stoked.

EDIT: And lucky me won't have to deal with the DC Eibach Sportline Infamous "Even Drop" that makes the rear look lower than the front.

I'll be sure to post up my findings and my opinions of this. More info out there for the future generations.

hmm looks about the same as my stance was on H&R Sports. However those springs were much too soft for they amount they dropped and the car rode like shAt, even on Koni Sport shocks.

I had H&R Sports on my last 2 Integras. There were ok. A good street ride. But if you wanted to get into some "Spirited Curve Carving" They were too soft and squishy. I'm hoping that these Civic Eibachs (310F/275R) Will be a little stiffer than the H&R Sports (276F/276R). With the Integra being a little heavier, I'm looking at those Eibach Spring Rates to increase slightly.

Love the Clean DC Patrick. Real nice. Are your Fat 5's Powdercoated or just sprayed? And what kind of antenna is that?
