Typical GC + Koni Yellow setup questions - CRX
Hey all,
I have a CRX that I primarily drag race but also occasionally autocross. I do drive it on the street but I don't drive it daily so I don't care about ride harshness all that much. I have 24.5" slicks on Lenso VPDs, and the suspension on the car is so bad I can't manage better than a 1.9 60'.
Just wondering,
a) Is there a minimum/maximum spring rate that the Koni Yellows can "successfully" dampen without asking the shock to do too much,
b) What type of spring rates would be "recommended" for my setup - I see the Omni coilovers running 18k rears with 12k fronts which I translate as something like 220/350 lbs FR. Why are these so light - I was considering 500/600 lbs FR, and my friend's HB is running a 500/700 combo,
c) Where are racers getting their higher spring rates from - all the package deals I see are in the 250-350 lb range.
Thanks guys... just trying to consider my options and learn a bit more about a "good" suspension setup

c)Those really soft springs are all OTS GC springs. Most people opt for custom rate springs where you can get whatever rate springs you want/need.
I would get the Race valving Its like SSP or something along those lines. You can get custom springrates as well check the marketplace for some good deals on a package deal.
