Default finished putting bars on my sv650

some of you have probably seen my bike before. I'm usually guilty of photowhoring. But this winter I didn't do much other than ride the thing. However, back in the fall I finished my naked conversion, but was still running on cyclecat clipons, with hopes of going to bars in my future.

Well, after 12 hours on sunday with a buddy, I'm finally riding a true naked bike with bars.

Here's the bike the first day I got it:

Here it is at it's peak of being an 'S' model:

After converting to naked:

And now, new and improved with bars!:

If anyone's wondering. They are Rizoma conical bars, with pro-taper's mounts, and I even got to make a solid 1/4" aluminum mounting plate for my gear indicator/TRE. The mirrors are an ebay special. Some chinese company called Koso that makes mirrors for scooters.

Looks awesome as usual. I dig those mirrors...might have to check what they have around these parts for scooters...

So, it looks like I am not the only one who paid the extra grand for the s model only to realize it really isn't that great for the street.

Nice bike. I've got a blue 06.

Ha I went the other way. Started with an 06 naked, got tired of highway wind blast so I threw on the S fairing. Wanted more sporting riding position so i through on rear set riser plates and Clip On's.

The brake reservoir is definitely crooked. I need to make a new bracket for it.

The headlight is just an aztec8 6" round headlight kit.

Did you not like the bar-end mirrors anymore? I still love mine.

I didn't like the bar end mirrors ever I just didn't have a choice before. The bar end mirrors were too small for it liking and only gave mr a view of blurry shapes. On top of that I didn't like having to turn my head to use them. I do however like the look of barend mirrors.

i dig it. looks good. nice job on the fabbing, man that would be a fun scoot in the hills.

how much did the bars/mounts cost in total? also what fork is that?

i had the same gray bar end mirrors / turn signals on my FJR when i made it nekkid.

Oh man, I bet a naked FJR was bad ***.

The hard parts are Rizoma conical bars with Pro taper oversized bar mounts sitting atop 03 GSXR750 forks. The forks are running 05 GSXR750 springs with 'i can't remember' oil and gold valves, all thrown together by GP suspension in Portland. Brakes are standard, with OEM pads, but I'm running SS lines to an SP1 RC51 brake master cylinder. Makes for a very linear lever feel with great stopping power.
