Default JDM ITR Block under JDM B16A2 Head

Now I know there are numerous poorman type r threads, this is wee bit different.

Can I get away with putting a B18CR stock block under a stock B16A2 head?
The car is an EG9 so I'm wondering how much I will need to do.
Will the ECU cope with increased displacement?
Compression will go from 10.4 to 11.4 which is still less than a JDM ITR.

Basically I have the bits and the car, but can't find what else I'll need. I'm a poor student, so am not interested in a full rebuild big cams etc. I just want to make it 1.8 and live with that for a bit.

Some have suggested it will run lean?
Flamesuit on...

Do you realise that the ITR and B16 heads are practicaly the same?

Yep both PR3, it's more the ECU that I'm worried about. I know everything bolts up. But I was more curious to see if the ECU can cope.

If it's a USDM b18c5 the comp ratio would be 10.6:1, if it's a JDM B18CR you'd be 11.1:1. Since you haven't mentioned what ecu you have is, we can't tell you if you'll run lean or not. What I would tell you is to run a JDM P30 ECU or an ITR ecu if possible.

I'm in New Zealand. Virtually all our cars are JDM imports, there are few what we call NZDM, which is the same as USDM, ie lower compression motors for ITR's (only 7 in the whole country) VtiR civic's and Preludes. However SiR Preludes, ITR's, CTR's and SiR civics are much more plentiful.
So the block is a B18CR (JDM ITR) and my ECU is a P30-0.
Sorry compression 11.1 up from 10.4

I basically am getting the block for not much. My brother has several and he's not set on what he's doing, either way it will just be a block.
