I put 374 down on pump with my sohc.... It's always in my mind that it will probably loose compression over time. I will rebuild when necessary, but vitara's are stupid cheap.
you are poll happy today huh?
my car put down 410 at evans-tuning and 381 at tempest racing.
what exactly are you trying to prove? that we can make power on pump gas safely? its been done time and time again, so if you have a friend that is stubborn and doesnt believe it then just laugh in his face and show him the dyno sheet.
ive given up on trying to convicne people what our cars can do, its a waste of energy. i know what the car makes and thats all that really matters. /rant

I'm trying to prove to a guy who's about to build a b series for boost that theres alot of guys out there that have been making good #s safely off of pump gas for a while. Just plan on printing this out and informing him.

fair enough. make sure he understand that we have built blocks at the 400whp level. 300whp is about the limit for stock bottom ends
^^depends on the motor. What he said was that anything past 350whp is dangerous and that i should be using race gas which then i give him one of this
KEEP THE SETUPS COMING

i feel reliability lays in the hands of the tunner, if you have a reliable setup then good power is no prob.

How do you manage this? I notice your torque is kind of low, so does this mean you are using a big turbo to keep charge temps low(ish) and make all of your power upstairs where the detonation resistance is higher? How much boost does this take?

I tuned a customers car to 522HP on 93 octane @ 26PSI , and that was on a mustang dyno.. Motor is still in one peice but turbo ate itself after a few months.. Defective garrett.
