Do a search under my user name. I recently started a topic about how to secure your car before it gets stolen. First off, DO NOT put our alarm brain by the steering column because that is the first place the thief will look for it. HIDE IT somewhere that is a PITA to get to. If you have the extra time, put it inside one of your doors, behind the passenger airbag (you'll need to remove the bag to get it back there. When I say behind, I mean between airbag and firewall, above climate control box), in the trunk. Put your relays in a separate location, not with the alarm. Buy a roll of black wire and terminate each wire, one at a time. When you are done, try to bundle the wires with factory ones then cover with black tape trying to maintain the same pattern the factory did. Make sure your light flash is fused. Instead of just doing starter kill only, consider starter kill, main relay kill, and fuel pump kill (3 separate relays). HIDE your siren and make it hard to get to the siren itself and the wiring. If you are going to put the siren behind the bumper, consider running the siren wire through the frame rail so the thief can not get to it.
Good luck on the install. Take all the time you need; the more thorough you are with your install, the better protected your car will be. Remember, no matter how good your alarm is, it's only as good as its install in the end. You can take a $50 alarm that's well installed and it will protect your car better than a $500 system that was just slapped in by your steering column.

thanks for the advice
so i am prepping all the wires and i have a few questions.
i have connected the back up battery and i am wondering where the red wire goes with the inline fuse connected. it says into a constant 12v so i am suppose to extend the wire?
also what is the white wire with an inline fuse used for/connected to?
i have the green wire which says to a negative door input trigger.
also on the starter kill, while i was reading the manual it says to add a diode to the orange wire? is that required? where does the yellow/black/green wire located to?
will post pics up in a minute,

Did you not get an install manual with your battery backup or alarm? If it's an older DEI, it should have all of the wiring info on the pieces. On the starter kill relay, the orange wire goes to the orange starter kill output, the small yellow goes to switched ignition (or the switch side of the starter kill relay). The large wire at terminal 87a goes to the key side of the starter wire. The large wire at terminal 30 goes to the starter side of the starter wire.
On your battery backup, I need to know the brand so I can make sure I'm giving you the right wiring info... You need to make sure to hook up EVERY wire on the battery backup so it can do its job, too...

Solid green goes to the door trigger and white goes to the parking lights. I would run a relay on the parking lights wire from the alarm brain so the parking lights do not flash when the battery is unplugged.
thank you, i will do that for the parking light. makes sense
ive hooked up 3 sirens and added a 2amp inline fuse for each.
i will look at my alarm tonight and figure everything out.
keep you guys updated!
