Hi guys as the title states i have just tunned my car and I can't get the hondata s300 2 step to stop. Let me explain, the tune was great until I got home and went to pick up a friend to test out the new set up. We first tested the 2 step, so I came to a stop put my foot on the clutch and the other foot on the gas (full throttle) to start the 2 step and lauched. I found that I was not able to revs past 3800 rpms which is where the 2 step is set. AS of now I have no check engine light (no code). I thought it could be a vacum leak so I checked all my hoses and everything looks good. I also tryed resetting the ecu and that didnt work. I swapped the s300 with a chipped p28 and the problem was solved! How can I fix the 2 step on the S300?

go into the Smanager under 2 step and disable your 2 step, you either dont have a properly functioning clutch swict, or VSS sensor, OR you MPH in your 2 step conditions is set to some ungodly number
I would think the car is just not registering VSS or you have it as always on.
But do exactly as posted above! And log your VSS to see if it is still getting a signal.

If you switched ecus then it is obviosuly the function in your s300 and nothing with the car, relax my friend its gonna be alright!

I really thank you all for the advice! I was a bit scared the s300 would have a major problem. I'll check the VSS. My dyno # were 315HP and 215tq at 11psi. Thanks again for the info guys!

OK I have checked the VSS and clutch switch and they appear to be OK. I would have checked the Smanager but I do not have the Hondata usb port. So I guess I'm gonna to talk to my tunner. Thanks for the advice. If there are any other options let me know. I think I'm gonna order a usb cable from hondata.

Ok I got the usb cable and for some reason I can't disable the 2 step. Just to make sure the 2 step is called launch controll... right? When I try to click on the launch control it will not let me turn it off or on. the screen just has a (on/off) which I can not click on. Please help.
you need to have the car on, and the cable connected to the car when you do that, you are correct its called launch control

I did have the car on when I attempted this. The funny thing is we were able to drive for about 20 mins while datalogging and bossted and past 3800 rpms with no problems in any gear. We than took off the lab top and the same problem was back (not able to rev past 3800 rpms). Is it nesscary to have the Hondata CD? I purchased my S300 used and it did not include the CD so I just down loaded from the Hondata website. Thanks EARLdaSQUIRREL and everyone else for the help guys, this is driving my crazy!
No you do not need the cd, you can download from there site.....Turn key on without starting car....You have your tuned map uploaded on the laptop, then hit the little lighting bolt to go live... then go to launch control and disable it, then hit the upload arrow, turn key off, then start the car

what file would my tunned map be in? I attempted to use the upward pointing arrow but was scared to up load files because a warning box poppped up and said "it is recommanded to load calibrations file from computer, rather than downloading from the ECU. Do you still wish to download formthe ECU?" I did not download, wanted to make sure this was correct. Am I on the right track?
you can either continue and download the map from the ecu or have your tuner email you the file. you have to have the file opened in smanager to change those launch control settings and upload it to the ecu.
does your speedometer work? when datalogging does your VSS show the proper speed. there is also a launch control value that shows whether your launch control is activated.

Spoke with my tuner today and he took a look at my Hondata and could not find anything wrong. We turned on the launch control and no problems. I will post if anyother problems arise.
