Need help with fixing A/C
Ok i bought my car back in May 2008. The A/C worked for like 2 day then stopped.
I recharged it like a month ago and it only still worked for about 2 days.
I know that there isnt a leak so I'm thinking that it might be the compressor.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

you could be right... but how did you recharge it? that could be a problem also...
if you used the can that you buy from Autozone/O'reilly/Pepboys/Walmart... you need to charge it with the car running, and AC in full blast (on # 4).
then, make sure the compressos is engaging... you'll know it if the can you bught has a gauge....
If you overcharged it, then it wont work... too much pressure in the compressor... possibility with mechanical problems now.

I'm not too entirely sure about that. I took it to an Acura dealerhsip and had them do it. So I'm pretty sure that they charged it while it was running on full blast, and hopefully didnt overcharge it.
Where is the compressor located, and how can i tell if it is running or not when i hit the AC button?
Thanks

How are you so sure there isnt a leak? If you had to refill it again then you obviously have a leak. Did the dealership do a diagnosis on the system? Or did you just ask them to recharge it?
The last time I had it charged which was like 2 months ago. They put some die in their too to see if it was leaking or not. And from that it wasnt
check to see if ur compressor is engaging. compressor is under the power steering belt. its big and round. start the car and have someone turn the a/c on. use a light and look at the end of the compressor and see if it engages. when engaged the opposite of the belt spins. when not engaged it does not spin. LOL i just forgot the da integras have r12. do u have a conversion kit to r134a?

well if u have r134a freon and u still have no a/c then u'r either overcharged or have a leak. did u take it back to the dealer for them to look for a leak since they added dye? open the high side valve under the hood and press the valve pin and see if any freon (gas) comes out.
No for small leaks you cant smell anything or or hear anything. Yes somebody mentioned pressing the check valve on the high side to see if you have anything in there, check it with the car off. If you have nothing in there then the your compressor wont engage.
