i have a friend that has eg he claims that its an si because it has a moon roof the car is not powered, i told him it was after markit. but can someone tell me th differnce

 

The sunroof came on ex's...i believe. But that may of only been eks. You could always check the engine.

 

the motor is a d16y8 but the i know that all ex and si are powered and has tweeter on the panles

the 4th, 5th, and 6th digits are what you are looking at.

EH1, EH2, or EH3?

also it should have a d16z6 in it if it were an SI, but that doesnt mean something didn't happen to the original motor for it to have a y8 in it now.

 

If its a EG Si or 92-95 si then it would have a SUNroof along with A/C, PS, CC, and the motor would be a d16z6 if original.

 

92-95 SI hatch's do not have power windows or door locks. My 92 SI HB has Moonroof, PS, PM, A/C, CC, rear disc brakes (from factory), audio console (from factory), and a cargo area light in the back hatch.

 

Should have a D16z6, rear disc brakes and the moon roof should be powered.

If it's not power then chance's are it's not an SI.

 

just check the vin easiest to find if its an SI

 

precisely, you can swap power/manual door options. you can swap engines. you can swap rear disk brakes. you can even have a factory sunroof installed. but you can't fake a vin number.
