Icon2 not an si?

i have a 92 civic hatch "si". i was messing around at work today(auto zone) and was lookin at breaks for my car. they dont list an si in 92 and it says they started making them in 94. is this true? my car has rear discs and a sunroof. what other ways are there to tell if its a real si or not? i can also fit 13 inch wheels on my car so it doesnt have the big brakes like a si should. i also heard that the canadian vti is the same as the u.s si. is my car a vti or what? it has the made in canada stickers on it but who knos. how can i tell? and do vtis come with smaller breaks? i was just thinkin since its such an early model maybe they didnt come with the big breaks yet? we list a ex in 92. is my car a ex with si options maybe? haha any help would be appreciated. it makes me sad to think my car isnt really an si :-(

Throughout the years the cars were produced changes were made, it's possible honda just moved to larger brakes for the si's in later years.

There is no such thing as a Canadian VTi, its strictly a European/Japanese trim level. We got the same Si hatches you did, the only differences being that ours came with DRLs and could be had with no airbags (at least in '92). The door sticker simply states where the car was assembled, a lot of them were built in Aliston Ontario, Canada. Some of the sedans were built in Japan, and I think some civics were built in Ohio.

All '92 - '95 ABS civics came with larger front brakes. The Si specifically was only offered with ABS as an option for '94 though.

They do make 92 si hatch's. If you have a sun roof thats powered, four wheel disc brakes and a D16z6 then it's an SI.
