Icon2 Honda CBR F2 Slip-On Exhausts!?

As some of you may know My Carburetor is due for some maintenance work on my 93 F2. Well While it is off I was thinking about getting a jet kit because I want to purchase an aftermarket Slip-on. Ive always wanted a D&D pipe but after doing quite a bit of reading (now that I own my own bike) I hear quite a bit of people say that other than being extremely noisy, The D&D is not that great of a slip-on.

I think I'm going to purchase a Jardine RT-One Slip-on for my bike. They sound great although I'm not too sure how well they perform. I found one on ebay for 275 brand new! I'm not to worried about horse power gain because I think my bike has enough power for me. (For now that is.) I do however want to purchase the right jet kit for my bike. So the questions I have are...

1. What exactly do I need to do to my motorcycle in order to properly install an aftermarket slip-on? Jet-kit? Anything else? And which jet kit? Stage 1,2, or 3?

2. Which Slip-On exhaust do you recommend? Best sound, quality, Price, Performance?

I'm in the market for a new slip-on but if anyone has a used one they are selling please let me know. We can talk business and I only use paypal Thanks again you guys!

I have a D&D on my F3 and it sounds awesome. Its not that loud and has a great tone to it. My buddy had a Jardine pipe on his F3 and it was annoying as hell. The D&D is a great price too, i think $220 on ebay which is alot cheaper then other brands.

Did you have to get your F3 Re-jetted after getting a slip on though?

You will want to rejet after installing a slip on. Some people will say it's not necessary, but it can cause your bike to run lean which can lead to long-term issues. I had a D&D on my F4i and it was ridiculously loud...wouldn't go back to that unless it was for track only.

I thought you were the young student who didn't have much $$ to spend on gear. Was that you? If it was you, you should go buy some protective boots before you start adding power-making mods to your already-powerful bike. Just looking out.

I'm afraid he fed you a line. You don't sync carbs to a pipe...you sync them to each other. Do you notice any sputtering in the top end?

A slip on is really just new mufflers, I'd say you don't need to worry about jetting. A jet kit might find you some more power, but that could be the case if the bike has the stock pipes. I wouldn't sweat it if you just want some extra noise. A slip-on will drops some pounds off your bike. Putting slip ons (two bros) didn't add any ponies as far as my butt is concerened.

I would recomend protective gear before a pipe too.

I didn't have much to spend on my gear, But I found a brand new Alpinestars jacket for $130.00 from $205.00. Plus my birthday was about a week ago so my fam paid for my gear. I'm only 20 so I can still get away with asking for Sh*t from my folks. Ha.

As for slip-ons, I heard that your bike can run lean if you just add a pipe, But never jet your bike. Or is it only recommended for full exhaust systems?

Yea, I know that the carbs are syncd to each other. But then you order a jet kit for your pipe. WHich is what he said was done. I miss typed it. No, no sputtering at all. Runs like a champ.
