Default Removing engine anti-vibration block? (00 accord)

(noobery)- I've hear this reduces engine vibration (in order to make it a more comfortable ride). If I remove this, would bolts in the engine bay loosen due to vibration over time? How critical is this piece? (it weighs 2.5 lbs) Thanks

It will blow up.

There's probably another one in your front bumper as well. I know for the CD there is. It's not the end of the world. But if it's a DD why bother? Skip out on extra tacos at lunch and save 2.5lbs that way.

I can't see it causing bolts to back out or loosen just by removing it. I'm pretty sure it's main purpose is to keep old people from complaining about the odd chassis vibration.

Give it a try and see if you like what you feel. Keep an eye on your bolts and put some extra Polly Dent in your dentures though...lol

lol old people would **** bricks if they rode in my accord with urethane filled-up engine mounts. Pretty sure i'm over-abusing that little anti-vibration block hehe

Oh I can't wait to drive my car once it's done. DIY 3M 65-75A engine mounts, balance shafts removed, complete poly bushing suspension, Skunk2 racing springs, variable rate struts and bumper dampener removed. I'm thinking it may shake and vibrate just a little bit. I'll just have to put rubber backing on all of my interior parts to keep tham from rattleing too much......

does my 96 accord have a front mount dampner on it? i know the rear mount is fluid filled and controlled by the solenoid loacted behind the plenum. ive considered removing it and dealing with the vibrations just to clean up the fire wall a little but i don't know
