Default What alarm has the longest range?

Well heres the thing, i currently have a viper 2 way pager alarm but even though it advertises a 1 mile range i honestly dont think it even reaches a 1/4 mile. i know for sure my friends prestige alarm reaches further than mine so im wondering what alarm actually has a decent range, im really not wanting to get the prestige maybe the new autopage alarm with the C3 or a compustar alarm. if i could get some input im sure somebody has had personal experiences with the alarms i've mentioned as well as others.

well if ur antenna wire is bunched up it lowers the range.. i tested it. lol i bunched up my compustar and the range SUCKS, compared to my gf's viper wich i extended the wire fully and it reaches her car when were in the theatre with no problem and her cars far in the lot.. apparently compustar has the better range? but someone chime in.

Compustar FTW.
As mentioned ant. installation, [and location] is critical to range, [for any brand] and keep in mind the range claimed for any brand/model is based on ideal conditions, nothing between you and the car.. 94

hmm interesting, immean it seriously feels like this "1 mile" viper alarm gets about the same range as my old autopage alarm did when inside buildings. i've heard good things about the compustar alarms being true to their advertised range. as for the antenna wiring if it is bunched up do i just need to spread it out as to not be bundled up or is there anything specific i need to do with it?

Spread it out up in the head liner, it makes a big diff. 94
