Default Compustar range a lie?

I want to get a reliable alarm with the most range. From what I've read and heard, Compustar has more range than any of the other alarm systems.

I spoke to an alarm shop rep who said that the range (half-mile and over a mile) Compustar claims is a lie. He said the Viper alarm systems outperform the Compustar alarms.

I just tested the range.

its hell badass range more then my old alarm.

its about 460 walking steps 24" each step.

about 1000ft. I went about that much still had recpetion untill I could have walked more but I said it was enough.

Does your car have tinted windows? Mine does and the range is not so great. I wonder if that's the windows' fault.

I have tested the Compustar with GPS for range the best I got was about 2900 feet.

My Viper Responder 791XV range isn't all that. I had the Antenna wire rolled up at first until I decided to spread it out as straight as I could to get more range. I did get a little bit mroe range, but it's still not decent enough. And because of the signals it uses, the range sucks more with obstructing object in the way like a tree, other cars, building columns, etc. I've always know the CompuStar's range to generally excel over any DEI's range.

What does antenna wire routing has to do with the range?
