Default New F22 build

Hey everyone. I recently spun a bearing and blew a rod in my F22b1. I am going to rebuild my motor and im trying to go through my options of a rebuild. I need some help. Should I do a turbo kit or just run natural?? Just looking to get the ups and downs for both of them

You posted in the All Motor forum. You get a lot of NA advocates telling you not to boost here.

F-series is going to be more of a challenge to get power, especially if you have to pass emissions. I've yet to see a 200whp+ SOHC build other than Bisi's all out drag car. Turbo is cheap in comparison to a high output NA F-series.

Application, goals and budget are what you should be looking at.

Pirate is correct, your goals will dictate which path would be ideal for you.

Go all motor! I have a 96 Ex accord with 170,000 miles on it and with less than the 2500$ a decent small turbo would cost you, I wet the route of N/A, and love not only the reliability, but the satisfaction of knowing i did not just take the easy route out.

instead I turned to the man who posted above me lol

Running his Level 2 street/strip cam regrind, with 345cc Injectors (h22a1), An apexi power intake with 3" K&N velocity stacked filter, Prelude Throttle Body (60 mm), F23a1 Intake Manifild (98+ Accord Ex, shorter runners, much larger CFM capacity.) With Greddy Header, Invidia Test Pipe and Apexi World Sport 2 exhaust I spent about 1500 as most of the items were junkyard pulls.
Then I de power steering and de-A/C-ed the car, and bypassed the Throttle body coolant for the summer and added Oil Catch cans to the PVC system for a few extra ponies

I have the beast street tuned on chrome but in 5 days Im going to the dyno to get a new eeprom so I can use my Hondata s200

The expected output of the motor is in the 160-170whp range with what ever the whp being the Tq being 5-10 ft/lbs higher.

I walk on new GTI's, G6 GTs, Eclipses, Civic Sis, and various other cars.
you get the picture. And the best part is that with a super low toned and generally quiet exhaust like the apexi ws2 and no blow off valve, My car is a screaming sleeper to those who dont know it :]

trust me stick N/A, its a much more rewarding and ideal fo the Daily driven vehicle path

And dont listen to the people who tell you boost or swap are the two routes for a f22b1, of course there is preference, but there is a third option of build thanks the guy right above me (h swap is alot of money and time for what? I embarrass Preludes anyways lol ;] )
