Default D15b

I have a 92 cx hatchback and the previous owner swapped a new engine in it. The block code is d15b (non vtec) and theres no number after it. What engine did this car originally come out of?

Yeah, no number after the stamp is JDM.

All you have to do is check if you have a vtec solenoid.

non vtec jdm d15b is a USDM d15b7, aka one slow *** motor lol.

Where should the vtec solenoid be? Theres a part missing below the pcv valve possibly is that where the vtec solenoid could be at? I'll try to get a pic for yall. The thing is my valve cover is different from the d15b that says vteh on it. My park plug wires go in threw the top not the bottom like the vtec one does.

Non vtec JDM D15Bs exist, some of them were dual carbed (they're basically a D15B7 with dual carbs and a mechanical fuel pump.) some of them may have been EFI.
