Default engine not running properly after swapping valve covers b18a

i just recently painted my valve cover and put it on. After i did so, the car was running very bad. i have the ground on right and i dont see what else i could have messed up. it runs really rough and loud but idles where it should. if i give it gas it revsand then acts like it wants to stall. im really stumped. it seems like its not running on all cylinders. thank you any input would be greatly appreciated.

make sure you didn't damage the spark plug wires when pulled.

Some times if you pull the plug wires out when they are still warm the connector inside like to come loose or even come off. Make sure they are all crimped on good and make sure you didn't knock any loose from the distributor. Also make sure you didn't knock any vacuum lines lose when you pulled the cover off.

well i changed the wires and it made it sound and run better but now i have like no power. the wires on the dizzy are in the right order. i know i have some major boost leaks but i mean my cousins lx automatic civic would whoop all over it right now, it seems like it has nothing. could my timing be off and cause this?

make sure theres no paint where the ground cable goes... sand it down if there is. paint wont let it ground properly
