i am really **** about my sw388's so i only use soap and water. i use a soft sponge as well. nothing rough that would leave a scratch. also, if you wash your wheels a lot then it is not good use soap on it constantly. just water would be fine. i wash my car once a week and depending on how dirty the wheels are i will use soap but most of the time they are clean . since they are forged flat black and a simple design it is very easy cleaning them and getting dirt off.

my buddy clean his spoons with WD-40 but as i said, me being **** bout the wheels, i stay away from any chemicals. this is my friends cleaning process...
First i cleaned them with soapy water and a terry cloth towel, dreid them off, and then wiped them down thoroughly with wd40 on a terry cloth rag. Then wipe off the excess WD and let them sit for an hour or so, then clean with some window cleaner and youre done. spray WD40 on terry cloth and clean.do not spray on wheel itself to avoid spotting.glass cleaner:technitians choice non ammoniated window cleaner.

They turn blue as they age, a sort of bluish green. Some of it is heated brake dust, but some of it is the heated finish of the wheels.

It's just what happens if they're used hard.

They're not painted. They have an anodised finish.

They were on my ITR for years before I finally sold them to Victor Perri. I don't believe I ever washed them at all...Victor had to scrape off about 8 years of Cobalt Friction dust.

so did you end up finding a set or not yet? the key to discontinued stuff is patience and searching the boards everyday and every minute possible b/c you damn sure know that when a clean set comes on the market, someone is gonna scoop them up asap status.

yeah definitely and remember that under the sun the wheels have a dark greenish hue to them which is normal. it is not completely flat black so dont be discouraged. LoL
