Default DEALER AND WARRENTY WORK

I went to my local dealer today to address sqeaks in the front doors that I've had since the car is new. They initially blamed the noices on the fact that I had had my windows tinted and that they must of removed the door panals and caused the problems. This in fact was not the case, because the door panals were not removed. At this point I became upset and asked for the service manager.

They finally agreed to replace faulty door clips on both front doors. My complaint is that the whole process was a pain in the a-- and it should'nt of been. Have any of you had similar problems?

All the time. As a matter of fact I won 2 days worth of lunch from a buddy of mine cause I bet him that the dealer would blame my "clunking" noise from the front on my Skunk2 coilovers.

Sure enough............

As soon as any of my local dealers see a modified vehicle roll in, they try and avoid it like a 16th century plague.

As far as your situation goes.....any real tinter should never have to remove a door panel to tint a window. Sounds like they're just jackin with you to squeeze out some extra cash.

After I had a heated conversation with the service writer and told him I needed to speak to his boss, they decided to repair the problem. It was a matter of replacing 8 clips in each door. According to this service writer, Honda factory never makes mistakes! Anyway, glad its done and I hope I never have to deal with the a dealer again.

its really unfortunate you guys dog dealers like that. i mean, i get most of what you're saying. and RICO i would say most places would do that to you almost immediately. but at the same time, i've seen more complete hacks come out of outside shops than anything we would let leave our shop. but i think we're a little different cause EVERY car of ours has to go through one of our shop foreman and get quality controled, and they're all ****-retentive.

hope you guys have better luck in the future!!

you sure about that? i heard that the door panels DO get taken out when tinting the windows, because the tint goes underneath the panel.

This noise came from the upper rear portion of the drivers side door. When you pushed on it manually, you could duplicate the noise. It happened on any uneven road and yes it did drive me crazy. It was there on and off since the car was new.

They removed the door panal replaced 6-8 clips as well as some form of adhesive tape.
So far it's working. The dealer was much kinder after they decided to fix my car and
asked me to come back if the noise resurfaced. All in all, I'm satisfied. I just wish it wouldn't
of been such a hassel.
