injector stuck open. many tries with dif stuff
I have an injector stuck open. Please decipher this problem you tuning brainiaks.
Im using a p28 with crome (burning chips for it)(no romulator). Precision 1000cc injectors . gsr turbo
At first I didn’t wire any resistor box, some said they are so big I don’t need one. Sooo. My friend came to tune the car and we drove around for about 20 minutes hitn boost and all that good stuff (street tuning) we came back to the house and tried to start it again…
and the 3rd injector stuck open and flooded the cylinder. he said I fried the injector jumpers in the ecu from not having a resistor box. So he sent me another p28 with another chip with the same tune on it. and I wired up a resistor box. It started right up…
now lean idled at 17ish. But in boost it went to 12ish. Ok….i get home with it after driving for 20 min….and turned it off. Came back to it..3rd injector flooded again. I check the wiring 3345 times. So it was 2 dif p28s and 2 dif chips, 1 with a resistor box, 1 without. I sent the injectors to precision to have them tested for malfunction. Not back yet.
My other friend came over and he has a stock d16 in an ef on 20lbs of boost using a crome in a p06 with an ostrich emulator…he has a y8 and he didn’t have a vtec ecu so I just told him to plug in my first p28, he put his ostrich in it and his car started right up…..what is the dealll. this guy told me its the chips. tune it with the romulator it will be fine. Please help . this is frrustrating. anyone that gives me an answer that works ill give $10 paypal..lol

and i have an ostrich but unused in the cubbard. should i use this? is that the problem. one of those chips came from exoncron
i had one do this it was a short in the wire to that injector not the yellow black wire but the other wire not sure of the color. i also seen one do this with a screw rolling around in the ecu
so did you resolderd the wired or get new wires. my last resort would be to buy another wiring harness. 2ohm 1000cc injectors need a resistor box? just makin sure.
yes u need a resistor box. i was able to find the short where the wiring harness the engine had rubbed a hole in the wire and put some black tape over it

If you tuned the car on low impedance injectors without a resistor box & now installed a resistor box & expect the car to run properly, this is not the case....
Concerning your injector being "stuck" etc... Try swapping injectors from cylinder to cylinder to determine if the issue is the actual injector or the wiring/ecu etc.
Good luck!

precision has the injectors..i sent them in. but i used an ohm meter thingy on it first they all said 2-3 ohms. 93octane. and the harness was fine. so its the chip?..
The easiest way to determine if it was a bad injector would have been to swap the injectors from cylinder to cylinder....
3rd injector...cylinder #3?
how exactly did you check the wiring? Just visually inspecting the engine harness or did you do a continuity test all the way from the light blue (not yellow/black) wire on #3 injector in question all the way down to the ECU (pin A5 if cyl #3) checking to make sure that wire isnt intermittently shorting to ground?

i didnt check it like that but its not the "xenocron" chip. its chips in general, becuase we used your chip and then my friend tried a dif chip he had same results. i gues the other parts to chip the ecu are differnt than chipping it for a romulator is what i was told,
my friend put in his romulator in my p28 and pluged it in his turbo ef and it worked just fine. i didnt mean to say that your chips are bad in any way. they are good. its the 2nd cylinder, 2nd away from the cam gears...what pin is that? il check it when i get out of my cell
