stupid vss! WIERD SITUATION.....
I am throwing a vss code 17, wierd thing is , my speedo is actually working properly......... . . this was wierd do i took my vss off, it had some coolant in it. cleaned it out and dried the coolant out. plugged it back in, still throwing vss code, and still gave it a drive around the block. the code will not go away. and i want vtec!
Obviously the VSS works. The VSS has three wires, one of which branches to both the gauge assembly and the ECU. Start by checking whether the wire branching to the ECU is broken or disconnected. If it's fine, then the ECU may be bad.

oh ****, hmmmm is the center one to the ecu? i dont see a pin in the center one........ fack, be back to let u know how it goes.
96 civic with b16a3 swap, ob2-ob1 converted on p72 ecu. so i'm not throwing the vss code anymore. all i have left is the knock sensor code with is 23. but still i am not hitting vtec................ ??? ? ? ??? i dont think knock will disable vtec, would it?
did you check the fuses sometimes they will pop for the vss i belive its a 15amp fuse, check to makesure wires under your intake manifold arnt cracked, i guess its a common problem when you swap b16's the motor moves and they get smooshed. Also you may have to drive the car 60 miles after you to fully reset the ecu, not just a 5min ride, Also check to see if your alternator is working. Pm me and let me know how you make out
everything good with the vss guys
only code i'm throwing now is the knock sensor code, 23, and i'm not able to hit vtec and it bumps at 7????
i never knew that knock would disable vtec
