Default NEW GSR TRANS OR NOT.

so I was just driving yesterday after taken off in 1st gear my car just stoppped accelerating. i have a 95 acura gs-r, so anyways i stopped and checked everything out the engine is fine starts up and revs up sounds normal. but when i put the car into gear nothing happens i mean i can hear it go into gear the car just wont move. i just changed the fluid 2 weeks ago also checked the shifter and links tonite to make sure nothing got diconnected it looked fine, but what i did notice is that the axle that is goin bad was sticking halfway out of the trans. so does anybody know if that would cause my symptoms? would the driver side axle which is the good side still try to spin when i give it gas? i dont have a lsd in my trans. any advice would be greatly appriciated!! i found a trans to buy. but if it just needs a new axle tht would be some good news!!!!

Are you sure it's nothing clutch related? Has that ever been replaced?

I have noticed that axles look as if they are out a little bit and was worried about mine once but all others I see have a gap

i replaced the clutch awhile ago like 70,xxx miles ago but havent really ragged my teg out to bad since then cuz its my only form of transportation i man i couldnt tell u the last time i raced it. but u never know it could still be the clutch?? when i got under my car earlier i could actually move the axle by the trans in and out about 1 1/2 inches. also my boot was torn pretty good so i dont know if tht can cuase any play?? but im gonna go pick up an axle tomorrow when i wake up. i HOPE thts it. cross ur fingers for me.

sorry to say... but a torn boot wouldn't give you these symptoms. trust me, i have a torn boot on my integra at this very moment.

If the axle isn't seated in the diff, you're not going anywhere.

yeah so i wasnt goin to work on my car at all like an idiot i have given up on it. the trans had been pooping out of 5th at times and was grinding just a little bit. so i def. thought it was my trans that was gone. but after reading some post on here i read 1 from a dude tht had the same issue, and his axle had popped out. geuss wat guys my axle had popped out to. thank god tht was it! i had already priced out some tranny's. thanks guys for the advice it was helpful. im sure ill be on here again soon since my car is not exactly new anymore and is uo there on miles. and by the way if anyone wanted to know my car is running great like new now! and my new axle added 10 horsepower haha .
