well i jst bought a 98 dx hatch. and found out that it has been swapped to a d16z6 vtec. but they didnt change the ecu to a p28 and the cel is on. so im thinking of fixing the cel light and the ecu and smoging it . do u guys think it will pass. can i convert an obd1 motor to obd2 by switching the harnees annd ecu or no ?

 

I am not an expert on CA laws, but I am pretty sure they don't allow older engines in newer chassis.

I am sure the block stamp alone is enough to fail inspection.
