Icon6 Speaker Wiring

Good day all! Question of the day.........In my 07 EX Coupe I presently have Infinity Coax's in the rear and Infinity separates in the front. I am going to put my Alpine head/xm unit in. I have the OEM Amp bypass adapter and speaker/power etc adapter and antenna adapter. Now for the question. Since the OEM wiring has six pair of wires, i.e. one pair for each speaker and then a separate pair for each tweeter, do I use the Infinity crossovers that came with the speakers and wire them directly behild the Alpine unit, using the OEM wires that run to the door speakers and dash tweeters? Did any of that make any sense? LOL

Thanks as always for everyone's input!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.standing-by............

I'm sure you could do that if you wanted to you could wire it that way. Another option would be to run wire from your door to your tweeter location and put the crossovers in behind your door panel. It would give you a bit more space to work with.

This is true, since there just isnt much room at all behind the head unit! I have to put my xm unit just to the right of the glove compartment. I just may try that using new wiring for the tweeter. I have an Infinity Basslink coming to replace the OEM Amp and woofer.

Another thing you might want to consider is running all new wire for your speakers... depending on your amp setup and all that. I did that for my girlfriend's Saturn this past summer and getting the wire through the door jamb was a pain in the ***. I ended up cutting the boot to feed the wire and then zip tying it back together. You might not want to go that route, but it will give you better sound quality.

If you're going to run your speakers all off the headunit though, then i wouldn't worry about it... although running a power and ground wire directly to the from the HU to the battery isn't a bad option either. Its just some of this stuff is really a PITA to do sometimes.

Think I will go with the crossover in the doors and run new tweeter wires and call it a day. Much simpler! Im installing my Alpine unit tomorrow. Its not the newest system but it is XM ready! No bluetooth and that is fine. I have a Basslink coming in for the trunk. All Infinity and Alpine, not bad!
