A couple of days ago my cluster went dead but after i changed the fuse it started working again. but now the DRL light stays on unless i turn on the headlights. why is that?

 

I'd guess that your daytime running lights are off so the warning light turns on. Just a shot in the dark.

 

Stay on if the car is off? Or stay on until the headlights go on while driving? They are supposed to be on all the time unless your headlights are turned on..........

did you check the fuse for them? (the DRL)

 

Yes, i just checked. but the fuse looks perfectly fine. This just happened after i replaced the fuse for my cluster because it stopped working. usually the Daytime lights stay on always unless i turn on the headlights. but now it doesnt work at all.

 

OK what is the current issue with your car? in your first post your talking about the DRL indicator on the dash being on when your DRL are on. Now your saying that your DRL don't work. What one is it?

 

my DRL indicator stays on in the dash when my headlights are off. in order for the DRL indicator to turn off on the dash is for me to turn on my headlights.

 

OK so when your DRL indicator light is on are your daytime running lights also on when you look at your car from the front? If they aren't on when the DRL indicator is lit. Check the under dash relay/fuse box, fuse No.10 7.5A (Day Lights) is what your looking for.

The DRL indicator light on your dash and the dim low beam lights are both supposed to be on any time that you have your driving (nighttime) headlights switched off.

 

I checked all my fuses. I think my module is burnt. I checked both "DAY TIME" fuses on both fuse boxes but it doesnt seem to solve the problem. When i used to drive daytime i usually see 2 lights working on the front but it stopped working now

 

dont know if its the but just a thought because it happened to my friends car , but anyways , all the wiring had shorted out and melted all the wires

Same issue. Result was burned out headlight terminal in firewall

 

What do you mean by terminal? Are you referring to the relay or a wire harness connector?

After much research on this issue with my 1999 Odyssey, I found that the DRL relay switch is faulty and needs to be replaced. It is located behind the glove box. I could not find a replacement on ebay or Amazon but found a brand new one with a company in New Jersey. I hope this helps.
