Belt squeek help??
hello everyone. i have searched all over and cant find anything.
i have a squeaking noise coming from one of my belts. its after the car has been running for a little while. i tried spraying wd40 on the accessory belts and still seems to make the noise?
the guy i got the car from replaced the timing belt at 123.000 miles i not have a round 126000 but i guess what my question would be is what can i do about it? or know if it is the timing belt?
my car is a 1996 civic dx Hb stock d16 motor
any help is appreciated!!
thank you

WD40? who honestly told you to do that? your belt is problaly worn out, or there is grease(or wd40) on it. you should use brake cleaner to dissolve the grease and spray belt dressing to see if that fixes the problem.
I recently made a thread about this. You can read through it if you'd like. The noise is gone after a couple days of driving the car. You can check it out here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/sqeaking-noise-hmm-2580475/
lol it was my bright idea i guess. but im sure the belts are not worn out because they look fairly new. i could be wrong though
