Default Lojack or WRX-STI alarm?

Well I currently have a 2-way pager alarm right now that's decent but I'm thinking about upgrading to the WRX-KILLER-STI-EATER's installed clifford alarms which I heard was VERY good. For the price of his alarm I can either get that or lojack. I heard some bad stories about lojack. For example: They can't detect your car in a garage (dont know if true or not) and I live in San Diego so more than 50% of the time your car will end up in Tijuana. + isn't it better to have a good security system to prevent it than to have to recover after its done already? I'm really stuck on this 1. If I do get The new alarm I will be getting clifford GPS tracking but thats not for about another year or so. Also 1 last question, Has Anyone's car been stolen with WRX-Killer-STI-Eater's alarm before?

Exactly why I asked this question. Not to get off topic but Recently my cousins 4dr integra was being broke into and he was watching the thieves calling the cops to come. They came an hour later lol and the thieves took off of course.

a alarm is as good as the install if Des is the one to install then your car is not going anywhere

Lojack is fine if you just so happen to live in one of the very limited coverage areas.

For the rest of us, a stealth installed alarm is the way to go.

Auto page is another car alarm company that offers gps tracking that I think is comparable to DEI. Check it out and see how you like them. Only thing i don't like about it is that the brain is kind of big but to think about it comparing it to the Clifford G5 it's about the same.

First off, I got a great deal on my LoJack when I bought my car. That allowed it to pay for itself in under 2 years due to an insurance discount given for "theft recovery device". For that reason alone, it was more than worth it for me. Having had the car for 6.5 years now, its saved me a good chunk of money on insurance.

I'm told (have had no reason to check) that LoJack is currently significantly more than what I paid to have installed if you just call for a quote.

See how much the LoJack would actually cost, call your insurance and ask if they'll offer a discount for having it, and decide if it would be worthwhile to add it on top of a good alarm install.

If you're truly paranoid (and all of us should probably be), do both. They won't interfere with each other at all or anything.

^ good advice...

also on another note, lojack offers a plan called guarantee +5000. call them and ask about it, i did and this is what they told me. If your car gets jacked, and no one can find it for whatever reason for 30days, you get 5000$. SOUND LIKE BULL S***??? of course it sounds like b/s but wait!!!!

my friend(good friend i talk to, not some aquaintance) had this exact plan on his Yamaha R1 motorcycle. It got jacked, they called him, sure enough it was gone, then i guess teh thieves smashed the lojack., 30 days go by and no sign, he got 5000$ in his pocket. THIS HAPPENED IN SAN DIEGO!!!!

so to me it does sound worth it. good luck,.

I was under the impression the $5,000 goes toward the insurance deductible.

I'm kinda leaning more towards lojack with the early warning feature or w/e now... But I really want a good stealth alarm from wrx too... Damnit Decisions decisions!!! :/ I just want to be able to drive my car to the mall or the movies without worrying so much that I can't even concentrate on what I'm doing or watching

I said it once and I will say it again. Lo jack is good but the install sucks. I just did a members car from san deigo. His name is haiduy. When we pulled the driver knee pannel of the dam lo jack was screwed in next to the fuse pannel. You could see it if you did not even take it off. And thats one thing a theif breaks off when they steal your car.

Also dei never made there own tracking system. They were mobile iq units with the dei name badge on it. All dei gps customers and being moved over to mobile iq sites now. Dei is out the game with gps thanks to the net and will be a couple of years before they make a return. I just moved over to carrying mobile iq. The dam thing just works do good and is a straight forward install. So if it aint broke then don't fix it.

Not to brag but I have not had one car stolen with a stealth install. Many attempts but the customer/members still have there whips.

No it will work as dei sold it. When you log onto the tacking website thru dei. Its really mobile iq website. The only thing that sucks is that a couple of features was lost like remmote start thru the website and arm thru the website. Other then that it is the same unit.

IN MY OPINION I WOULD TELL YOU TO GET BOTH!!! THE ALARM IS WHAT KEEPS SOMEBODY FROM ACTUALLY DRIVING OFF IN YOUR CAR, THE LOJACK IS FOR WHEN THE TOW TRUCK COMES AROUND BECAUSE NO ALARM IS STOPPING GOING TO STOP IT BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN BE WARNED!!!
