96 civic hatch d14 CEL 16 "injectors" Help Needed
Hi all. I posted a thread in here before Christmas and I still haven't been able to sort this car. Its slow driving me insane.
Problem - CEL 16 "injectors" Basically they are not firing.
I have done the following thus far.
replaced distributor
replaced immobilizer unit
and keys.
dizzy was giving weak spark (that's why it was replaced)
I have since removed the wiring harness to look for faults. i found one on a yellow and black wire with a silver tracer dot. I have now soldered this back up. The wire went into a blue plastic block which connected it to 3 other wires the same colour.
I originally thought that it might be the immobilizer, so I bought a new ecu and immobilizer unit. new keys and a new red key to match it. that didn't work.
I then thought it must be the distributor. as the spark was poor. wasnt that, but now I have a strong spark at least.
I then removed the wiring loom and checked it over.
I found a broken wire, great I thought. as i was beginning to pull my hair out. Turns out that it isn't my problem.
Can anyone help me find the honda workshop manual or wiring diagrams. I thought they would be easy to find but either im blind or they arnt here.
Question is this. what would give cel 16 - anyone ever experienced this?
Someone must be able to help. please please please

How do you know the main relay is good?
With the key in ON(II), do you measure battery voltage on the YEL/BLK wire in the connector for each fuel injector?
Is fuse 44, 31, or 13 blown?
Does the wire running between the injector connector and the ECU lack continuity or have a short?
Have you tried swapping in a known good ECU?

im currently throwing cel 16 on an EF and it wont crank, we noticed tonight that the fuel pumo is randomly kicking in on key turnover, the main relay is not working everytime. Gonna try that tomorrow and measure voltage as well.

I have a second ecu and have same problem. I have continuity between the orange wire that goes to a plug on the inlet manifold and the yellow blacl wire on the injectors. i cant see anywhere there is a short on the wire.
I have continuity on the yellow black wires right back to the ecu.
Slowly driving me insane. Time for an auto electrician i think.

PROBLEM SOLVED......
I have been around the houses with this problem and I am now gladly saying that the problem is now solved.
It turns out that there is a primary relay which is the power source for the pgmfi main relay.
this had gone.
it is located at the back of the fuse box.
Now I have a sticky idle control valve which i am going to take out and clean up.
Just thought i would let everyone know encase they have similar probs.....
