ITR Mainshaft? need a new one questions and How to tell usdm from jdm?
The teeth where it meets the diff are sheered off
Mine is bad one of the teeth are gone. Can i use a gsr trans and just switch the lsd and be done or can i use the gsr mainshaft?
Do i need just the ls 5th gear and syncro to install it so i have a higher 5th?
I know its a lsd trans thats easy but how do i tell if its jdm or usdm?
It had j4d lsd stamped on it and it says s80 and some number after that on the case... How do i tell if the final drive? On both the case and lsd/internals? As before i bought it it was pulled apart?
pretty sure j4d is jdm only.

dipshits get ratios mixed up or think they can create a new ratio not thinking about gear pitch or design.

Ok J4D = 4.4FD and N3E = 4.78FD.
I know believe the trans is a 4.4 fd. however i still wanna count the fd and make sure it is cause before i bought it it was ripped apart and put back together.

Don't mix and match (same ratio) as gears wear into each other. Some nasty and weird things happen when you do so.
I am doing this just to get the car running and driving if it blows big deal i have less than 200 in this itr trans and anyway it blows the lsd is still good.
I am gonna take it easy for the first 2k miles just so the parts can bed in. if i do the half assed rebuild with used counter shaft. As long as i check the clearances i should be ok.

Using this with ls 5th should give me better mpg and let me use top speed on a speed track with out having to sacrifice top speed

rip open my spare gsr case throw the lsd diff in and be done with it.
Trying to debate if i am gonna throw the gsr back in it or h2b swap it i love the torque it makes and with lower fd gear low (6psi )boost and especially na will be fun on the h22... id be limited to what i can do on the mods or boost with the frm liners but h and f motor are dime a dozon where i am at
b motor gsr's are starting at 800-1200+ up and you dont know if they are even good.
But b parts and aftermarket is retarded are very plentiful i just dont like how all gsr motors **** there guts out in the high rpms from oil starvation.
Not to mention the price on gsr motors is absurd.
H22a are pretty cheap to import (750 plus 250-350 shipping) for 200 hp and tq
b18c are 1700 ish shipped... for 180ish hp and 120tq...
b16a are100 shipped for obd1... for 160hp and 110 torque
id keep ac and ps if i did either or.
Idk enough talking motors thats the plan but idk what fd set to get i am leaning on the 4.7 but idk bout droping 400 on it, when i can get the 4.9 for 100 more.
4.9 would be better for the gsr motor or b16 But would be fun with the h22a.. or would it be to low for the h22a

Two mix and matched gears are not going to wear properly.
Either get a new countershaft or a new FD.
Either get a new countershaft or a new FD.
wrong. b16=gsr=itr[usdm] countershafts. look on your ring gear and count the teeth. 67=4.78fd and 66=4.4fd. if its 66teeth then you can use the countershaft from any gsr or b16 transmision.
