well after my swap from F23a1 to jdm F23a this is my only problem i have yet to solve.

when i shift into 1-3-5 it the shifer wants to go wayyy forward. and from what it looked like the cable is extending out and up out of **** cable harness.

ill be looking at it in the morning when its cold and i can work but any hints on what it could be ?

 

my friend had a 97 f250 and there was a plate that got loose and slid down so he couldn't get into 1, 3, or 5(which was reverse on that) so i would def check the linkage

 

well ... i took out my intake and the braket that is on my thermostat so i could get to it today with a better look at things ... i can just pull on the cable and it moves my stick in the car .. would this just be cable slack or what ?

and if some one could tell me where the adjustment is ... isnt it under the center counsole?

 

hey man just wondering how this came out.. my trans grinds going into 1, 3, and 5 like the synchros are not working right and i was wondering if it could be something in the linkage

 

well what happened was when i swapped my motor we bent the linkage outa the way and it had bent and it eventually BROKE.
the reason i had to much play in 1 3 5 was cause the cable was not stiff any more at the point where it joins to the I joint at the tranny end, where it eventualy broke.
I went to the JY and got a linkage for 50$ and installed in like 1 hour.
