Default Wheels for Prelude

Hi there guys, I just picked up some 17x8 5x114.3 48" offset today with some 225/45/17 tires, it's off a 05 subaru. I've been reading around and need some personal opinions from fellow luders, tires need to be replaced, aiming to get 215/40/17, but im having a delimma with the offset, so please offer personal advice before I decide to sell it or buy tires, thanks!

You could try this link too. It has offsets for a lot of cars.

EDIT: Looks like i misspoke... that site doesn't have offsets. Just bolt patterns, center bores, and lug nut sizes. Sorry about that.

I'm planning on that exact size wheel with 215/40s. If you search around here and a few other sites you'll find people running them on 5th gens with no rubbing. I'm sure it's a very close fit and might be a problem if your car is slammed. Most that I saw were the usual 1-2" drop.

Yes, 17x8 +48. The general opinion (from what I've read) is that a 17x7.5 is a safer choice for fitment reasons. I've also read several places that a 215 on an 8" wheel is pretty stretched, although in spec for all the tires I've looked at. I was looking for the widest contact patch I could get under the front end without rubbing and without looking ridiculous (sticking out past the fender), and an 8" wheel seems to be the upper limit. I can't swear it'll fit without issues though, as I've only read that it can work and haven't tried it myself....yet. Rolling the fenders might be required also.

If you want safe & easy, go with a 17x7.5, using 215/40/17. Oh, and that tire size isn't stretched on an 8" rim.
