++NEED HELP!!! Throttle issues, car idling at 3k rpms!
i recently purchase a 89 CRX dx with auto tranny.
I knew that the car needed new fuel lines connecting to the fuel filter. i changed those out tonight and now the car is idling at 3k rpms.
i am not a car genius but i knew how to simply losen and tighten the throttle bolt line. well i changed it a little and noticed the line was already lose and the throttle is sitting without tension.
i losened and tighted it several times and i can get the RPMS down to about 2500 but thats it....
please help!

nope. check engine light isnt coming on... and i know it works because it came on before when i hit 40 mph.... my guess is that before it was coming because the fuel line was pinched... i let it run for a good 30 seconds to make sure it didnt rev down....
i just checked the vacum lines... they all look really good... i gave a good tug on them to make sure they wouldnt slip off. all was good.

take your t/b apart n clean the butterfly and then mess around with your throttle cable n then adjust your idle air screw. do you haz a fitv?

the shiny circular brass piece of metal inthe center of the throttle. thats the butterfly. take it off and clean it. take some 2000 grit sand paper and lightly sand the outer edges. then do the same with the housing to get a smooth feel. fitv is Fast Idle Thermo Valve. your fitv should be on the botton of the throttle with 2 rubber hoses going in and one going out to your idle air controll valve. your idle AIR screw is on the top left when looking directly at the throttle body when facing it directly at you
