having problems with a 88 crx, no start, and the engine light will not turn off...car has a obd1 z6 in it.

we have ruled out the ecu as we have tried working ones, we have ruled out the jumper by trying two different ones from working cars, we ruled out the main relay.

now we have tried this test in this link:

at the bottom of the page, steps 5 and 6, we get no voltage when the key is on. we checked all fuses, we did continuity tests from the ignition switch to the fuse box and the main relay to the fuse box, there are no breaks in the wires. would the fuse box itself be a safe assumption???

also when we do the other checks, when we jumper pins 5 and 7 the pump does not turn on, because ofcourse pin 5 does not get switched power.

now if the ignition switch itself was bad, would there still be continuity? we did this igniton switch test..

Yes it can because the contacts may not pass enough current to power the device.
You could install a jumper to bypass the suspect contacts for testing.

I quite often have to do this to rule out government mandated anti theft devices that have been added into cars that come in for no starts.
